Prof. Hilton Deeth, University of Queensland, Australia
Hilton Deeth grew up on a dairy farm in Australia and has a PhD in chemistry from the University of Queensland. He has had a long involvement with dairy research involving milk, butter, cheese, yogurt and milk powders, and has specialised in thermal processing. Soon after joining the University of Queensland in 1995, he established the Australian Dairy Industry Centre for UHT Processing and directed the Centre until it was absorbed into Dairy Innovation Australia Ltd (DIAL) in 2008. He has published over 150 research papers and 25 book chapters. He is now Emeritus Professor of Food Science and provides technical assistance and training to the dairy industry.
